I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this article in The Star:

21 A's! What the hell is he thinking? Compared to Amalina who scored 17 A1, its just like a speck of dust to his achievement. Today, we have students who actually take 21 subjects and gain 21 A's. I wonder how big is his certificate going to be to fit all those A's.

.......

My question is, just what is the maximum number of subjects that are available !? 30 ? -.-
This has to stop ! Think about us, the younger generations, how are we gonna cope with the pressure on having straight A's. Example :

Parents : * You see, the Kedah Boy can get 21 As, don't tell me you can't even get 10 As (straight As) ?*
He/She : *Err, shit, pressure pressure, tension, STRESS !*

--Finally, he/she suicided.... (just jk) =)

Seriously, is education all about getting a string of A's? Nonetheless, I won't judge this student. Who knows, he may actually be a well balanced person in life. However, I feel that this development is unhealthy as it places too much emphasis on academic achievement, leaving almost no room for creative and physical development. What use is an A in "English for Science", "Mathematics", "Advance Mathematics", etc. if one can't function well in university, speak up and think critically to solve issues at hand? Many SPM leavers who enter university for the first time face difficulties catching up to the demands of the new environment. Many still rely on handouts, "tips", step by step guidance, all the trappings of the primary and secondary education system.

The 5th day of holiday

Mahjong

Learnt this game during early Chinese New Year and it seems that I'm totally addicted to it. On weekend, I spent day and night playing Mah jong at Norman. Yesterday we even overnight at his house just to play Mah Jong after tuition. Heck, look how obsessed are we. It just never bored me though [for now =) ] and time definitely flies every time we played Mah Jong.

The minute we looked up, its 1pm, and the 2nd time we looked up, its already 10 minutes to 6pm. *gasp* We weren't even tired of it. It always reminds me of the time when I played RPG Online Games whereby I would "level" my character 24/7 without looking at the time. The best part is, playing Mah Jong is way better in every aspect than games.

For a start, we don't have to strain our eyes as much as playing computer games. 2ndly, we can also train our brain such as numberings, combination, strategy, etc. While playing Mah Jong, an unknown caller called me and said that I’ve won the Colbie Caillat ticket that will be held at Curve. To my surprise, I quickly jotted down the address and number.

During the night, we would just go out to mamak for supper around 2-3 am. I have to say, the residential area in ss19 don’t have a proper facilities. There aren’t many light stands built there. This makes the area almost pitch black when we’re on the way to mamak.

The next morning, since I’m a morning person, I always woke up the earliest among them. Then, Norman went for handball practice. Since I don’t have much things to do knowing that Norman’s computer had spoiled, and there is no one to play Mah Jong with, I’ve decided to ‘study’. Coincidentally, while I was studying, Norman’s father went up to his room to change and saw me studying. As a guest, I greeted him and continued reading. Once everyone woke up, we played around, listen to music etc.

When the hand clock strikes 12, Norman came home. He asked everyone in exasperation, who studied this morning because his dad gave him a sermon for not studying and playing all the time because he saw me studying. XD

Reached home and took a nap. Sorry Norman =)

*Kisses holiday*

1st Day of Holiday

Went to Jaya Square to play badminton with Sai Cheong, KokWah, Chung Ee, Yixian, etc.
Played for 2 hours straight and head off to cyber cafe. When I entered cyber cafe, I cant helped feeling nostalgic. It always give me old memories of how we skip school to play CC, how we overnight at CC just to play games, how we get so much trouble going to CC, and how our academic grades always goes down the drain.

Spent half the afternoon in CC and sleep. At half pass 5pm, I went to Chung Ee house to attend his Church, Harvest City, Welfare Friend's Night 2008. Went with few of our friends. The venue is somewhere in PJ. The place was awesome. Before the event starts, many people would linger around the area chatting and talking.

We then registered ourself and got ourself a lucky number and a magazine together with a cap.

The auditorium was capacious and it was filled with good quality speaker and lightning systems. Video recorders are everywhere in the auditorium. The event starts at 7pm (if I could recall) with an introduction of the theme event followed by an ice-breaking sessions.

Everyone was divided into 20 groups. Then, came a pastor giving a sermon and the event ended with a lucky draw session.

To my amazement, I got lucky and won the 3rd prize of lucky draw which is RM 50.00 of Espirit Voucher =)

Haha, my friends was so suprised. Unfortunately, we did not stand a chance to win the grand prize which is an I-Pod Touch Phone. XD

I guess that ends for today. =)

Study already ?
Got study ar ?
Hows your studies ?
What time you sleep ?

I've been bombarded with tons of question relating to studies lately. Have you study ? Touch your book already ? Got Study ?

And, me being slightly goaded would definitely answer No in a delightful manner of course. Unfortunately, "they" just aren't satisfied with my answer. Simply to say, when I say No, it means Yes, and when I say Yes, it means Yes too ! Why spend their precious "golden" time asking redundant questions when the answers just lie beneath them ? Not the person that answers ?

Maybe this is the disadvantage being in the top class AKA "Kiasu" =D
Come on, its just the 1st monthly test. It's an individual choice to choose whether to study or not to. Why must you guys bothered to ask ? For your information, "Kiasu" has already imprinted on our forehead. Hence, it is not compulsory to show more.

~.~

May I present to you.. my love
